I have just read an article on „austriantimes.at“.
It talkes about the Finance Minister Josef Pröll (ÖVP)
He said yesterday evening that they have done the right things to avoid the worst outcome.

He said yesterday evening that they have done the right things to avoid the worst outcome.
It is also mentioned that he added that the financial crisis had been "unique".
Basically what it says is that the ÖVP and Social Democrats (SPÖ) have offered state aid to all Austrian banks and the country’s largest finance houses, such as BAWAG, Bank Austria and Erste Bank have taken up the offer in the last few months.
He added that firms would have to stand on their own two feet again after the end of the crisis.

I disagree with Mr. Pröll's opinion. He says that politics have to play a stronger role during sucha a crise. I think that politics often make things worst than they still are.
